Pro Wrap - Insulation for Horizontal Propane tanks
Description and applications:
The Pro-Wrap has been designed to insulate propane tanks of various sizes – up to 2000 Gallons. It is designed to prevent heat-loss and to facilitate vaporization in extremely cold conditions. For these tanks, ( 500 and up) the product comes in three pieces: One insulation piece is for the top, the second insulation piece is for wrapping around the tank and a grommet kit to accommodate the pressure relief valve. The covers are designed for easy installation and removal.
There are three possible types of covers: The most common cover has a diamond shape hole in the middle, to accommodate the fill cap which is in the middle. The second type has a diamond shaped hole on the far side of the tank, while the third style has NO diamond shape hole. The cover would need to be removed to have access to the fill cap.
The kit Comes with a Insulation Snake Grommet kit to be installed on-site to let the pressure relief valve vent outside the Pro-wrap. A heat source such as a small Catadyne™ heater or even a light bulb may be installed underneath the propane tank. We have a bracket for a Catadyne heater. It is an easy one-person installation. See our Heater Booth web page for further details.
Stock sizes are for 500,1000, and 2000 gallon propane tanks. We have made larger custom products.
What it is made up from:
There is an easy four-step process.
- Wrap the bottom piece around the tank like a skirt. Be sure that the centered blue strap is at one end of the tank, and the open end at the other. Close the open end by using the attached horizontal straps.
- Lay the top piece over the top, with the blue buckles facing the blue straps The top piece overlaps the bottom piece, allowing rain and snow to easily fall off the top.
- Do up all the corresponding straps and tighten them as needed, until you have a good fit.
- The Grommet Kit is a two-piece flange kit that has an inner piece, and an outer piece held together with the four screws, which allows the Valve to vent as designed, while still having insulation around the tank.
The part number for these tanks starts with the letters “PW”. Thus PW502 for a 500 gallon tank, PW1002 for a 1000 gallon tank, and PW2002 for a 2000 gallon tank. You will need to chose what lid you require. If you wanted to use our premium product called the Cobra Tan, then you need to add the preface CT to the part number.
