Our Standard Grade Insulation Snake is Certifiable R-12 (R-11 USA) Rated.
Our Premium Grade Products is Certifiable R-14 (R-13 USA) Rated.
Our standard (Black) product lines are 3.5″ thick. Our premium product lines are 4″ thick
All products are made with a virgin blend (non-recycled) 5 mil polyethylene outer shell that is UV treated. Our premium products have a rodent-deterrent additive in the polyethylene.
Some of our customers have had Insulation Snakes in use for five or more years and they are still doing the job!
Insulation Snakes can withstand temperatures up to 202 degrees Fahrenheit or 96 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, the polyethylene sheathing will begin to soften. Higher temperatures will cause it to melt away from the heat source. See data sheet.
SNAKE STRAPS are highly recommended and are available separately from Insulation Snakes. Snake Straps allow for quick and easy installation and removal without damage to the Insulation Snakes.
No, do not cut the Insulation Snakes. The ends are specially sealed to help keep moisture and rodents out.
